Care and inspection routines for stab-resistant vests
Panel inspection, carrier washing and replacement triggers for vests used in daily patrol duty.

A stab-resistant vest is a piece of equipment with a service life. The outer carrier can be washed, but the panel set should be inspected instead of washed. Check for creases, delamination and moisture, and record the inspection date against the vest serial number.
Replace panels after any incident where the vest was struck, even if there is no visible penetration. Impact can damage the layer bonding without leaving an obvious mark on the carrier.
